{"id":6234,"date":"2020-10-20T19:30:51","date_gmt":"2020-10-20T19:30:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/fmf-old.abidesites.com\/?post_type=recipes&#038;p=6234"},"modified":"2020-10-20T19:33:47","modified_gmt":"2020-10-20T19:33:47","slug":"chai-sweet-potato-donut-holes","status":"publish","type":"recipes","link":"https:\/\/fmf-old.abidesites.com\/?recipes=chai-sweet-potato-donut-holes","title":{"rendered":"Chai Sweet Potato Donut Holes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><!--WPRM Recipe 6236--><\/p>\n<div class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe\">\n<h2 class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-name\">Chai Sweet Potato Donut Holes<\/h2>\n<p>\t<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-image\" src=\"https:\/\/fmf-old.abidesites.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/IMG_8999-150x150.jpg\"\/>\t<\/p>\n<p class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-summary\">\n<div class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-ingredients\">\n<ul>\n<li>1 Cup Farmer\u2019s Market Sweet Potato Puree<\/li>\n<li> 3\/4  Cup whole milk<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 cup + 1 tbs granulated sugar<\/li>\n<li>2 1\/4 teaspoons 1 packet active dry yeast<\/li>\n<li>1 teaspoon salt<\/li>\n<li>1 1\/2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice <\/li>\n<li>1 1\/2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract<\/li>\n<li>8 tablespoons unsalted butter (at room temperature)<\/li>\n<li>3 large eggs<\/li>\n<li>6 cups unbleached all purpose flour (plus more as needed)<\/li>\n<li>Glaze:<\/li>\n<li>2 Tbs Strongly Brewed Chai Tea (suggestion: 3 tea bags in 1 Cup of water)<\/li>\n<li>2 Cups Powdered Sugar<\/li>\n<\/ul><\/div>\n<div class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-instructions\">\n<ol>\n<li>Warm milk &amp; 1 tbs sugar on the stove or in the microwave until it\u2019s warm not hot. Tip: You should be able to stick your finger in it. Stir until sugar is dissolved. Add packet of yeast and stir until mixed, let sit 5 minutes. Mixture should be foamy.<\/li>\n<li>Pour the milk mixture into a large bowl or the bowl of a stand mixer along with 1 stick softened butter, Farmer\u2019s Market sweet potato puree,<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>\u00bd cup of sugar, 1 \u00bd tsp pumpkin pie spice, 1 \u00bd tsp vanilla extract and 3 eggs. Mix until fully combined.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>Add in flour 3 cups at a time. If using a stand mixer, switch to the dough hook at this point. Stir until flour is absorbed and then add the remaining 3 cups flour. Turn out onto a floured surface and knead for just a minute until dough is smooth and elastic.<\/li>\n<li>Form the dough into a ball and store in an oiled container, lightly covered until it is doubled in size, about 1 \u00bd hours.<\/li>\n<li>Add a little bit of flour to your surface and turn the dough out, flattening slightly and cut it in half. Put one half to the side. Roll out the remaining half to about \u00bd inch thick. Using a 2 inch round cookie cutter, cut your donut holes and set on a parchment lined baking sheet.<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Tip: You can re-use the dough after you\u2019ve cut the initial ones out but it will get tougher each time.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>Cover with plastic wrap and let rise again for 30 minutes<\/li>\n<li>Bake at 350 F for 13 minutes. Let cool completely.<\/li>\n<li>Brew chai tea as instructed on box and let cool completely.<\/li>\n<li>In a medium size bowl mix 2 cups of powdered sugar with 2 tbs of cooled, chai tea and stir until a glaze forms.
